Periscope Ensemble

As another platform to experiment with sound, spoken word and theatre, Robert launched Periscope Ensemble inviting a group of talented musicians to join him.

"The catalyst for the ensemble was finding the right people who were as excited about the project as I am.  The written music is a starting point. From there I want to be surprised by the other contributors and find ways to incorporate and grow my music.

With 8 people in the group it is open for everyone to consider the melody/words, any written harmony or to re-harmonise if inspired, to play or stop playing as influenced by the ensemble. The most important outcome is to create a conversation - like a string quartet, with equally weighted input. My intention is to move away from the usual format of soloing instruments sitting on the rhythm section."

Periscope is perfect for theatre spaces and festivals where the theatrical aspects can be accommodated.
